Botto Poala, Zegna Baruffa’s line specialising in fine worsted yarns, presents its innovative concepts for the Autumn/Winter 15-16 season.
The colours are sophisticated, conceived to respond to the needs of a demanding, cultivated customer base. The whites – warm and cool, slightly illuminated and altered by different light sources at different times of the day – transmute into barely coloured shadows. Transfigured, they become silver and cool dove-grey.
The yellow ranges from warm to cool, being distinctly affected by luminous influences. A not too saturated ochre becomes more vigorous and changes into maroon glacé and then into very dark red clay. Then, very light blue-greens contrast with reds – with different colour temperature and intensity – which, combined in different ways, produce very unconventional contrasts.
Bright and silky
Dragon Multicapo, a 100% silk, is a bright and silky twisted yarn. Clivia, a 47% extra fine merino wool and 53% silk, is ideal to satisfy the need for sophisticated contemporary yarns, according to the company. Its rough surface, dotted by tiny silk neps, makes it perfect to knit extremely light, vintage look sweaters.
The luxurious Gold, which is 70% cashmere and 30% silk, is one of the collection’s highlights – it was created to perfectly fit on the new electronic whole garment knitting machines - able to produce seamless sweaters.
Exclusive and delicate
Cashmore is the real novelty – superfine wool that is said to be finer than cashmere, spun in accordance with Botto Poala quality dictates and technology, gives origin to the most sought after yarn which, proposed in various counts (NM 2/60-2/80-3/80), has very sweet, velvety hand feel.
Tomorrow is a 90% superfine wool blended with 10% cashmere. Then, entering the exclusive realm of cashmere, Alashan, a 100% cashmere, Alyssa, a 50% cashmere and 50% merino superfine wool, and Dahlia, a 40% extra fine merino wool, 30% cashmere and 30% silk, offer the best in term of quality, together with extremely pleasant hand feel.
Calla, a 70% superfine wool Super 160’s blended with 30% silk, embodies the ultimate sensory pleasure which, in this case, goes hand in hand with a concept of sophisticated elegance, according to Botto Poala.
Varied assortment
Finally, a varied assortment of extremely valuable ultra-light yarns are featured in the collection. Impalpable weightless bouclés, the surface of which appears supple or gently grainy, spongy or vaguely felted (Magnolia, Ninfea, Mou, Mirto, Lotus and Larix) offer new essential style points.
These products, alongside the most complete selection in terms of superfine wool yarns, are articulated in many fineness types, counts and colours.
