BSTIM, a professional showroom that aims to give an answer to the needs of brands and distributors in the fashion sector, has formed an advisory board of experts who will share their insights and their knowledge to help improve the trade fair’s offering, reflecting on the current needs of the sector. The show’s next edition takes place from 6-7 March 2019 in Igualada, Spain.

The Advisory Board for 2019 BSTIM’s edition is formed by Pep Generó, President of Modacc Cluster and Creative Manager of Teoh&Lea; Josep Ignasi Reixach, Executive Manager of Punto Blanco and President of Agrupació Tèxtil Fagepi; Marta Coca, in charge of fashion for the Generalitat de Catalunya; Sílvia Riera, Chief Editor of  Modaes magazine; designer Josep Abril; journalist for Coolture Magazine Aleix Aguilera; promoter of Associació Moda Sostenible Maria Pérez; General Secretary of Modacc and Fitex representative David García; and Joan Sánchez, of Fira d’Igualada.

“In their first meeting celebrated last week in the framework of 080 Barcelona Fashion event, the Advisory Board evaluated aspects, such as the possibility of establishing alliances with other European fairs of the sector and how to enable creativity and innovation. Also, the need for the sector to revolve around sustainability, a value increasingly interesting for brands and distributors, was discussed,” organisers report.

“The meeting agreed that production in proximity has a long way to go and much to grow into because more and more brands with small turnovers are increasingly in need to produce locally and bigger brands are making more reprise products in smaller quantities and need quick answers and small volumes.”

The Catalan Cluster of Fashion (Modacc) estimates that with the digital transformation, the production systems will be 30% faster and 25% more efficient, bringing the personalisation of products to high levels.

This will be the main topic of the next edition of the BSTIM textiles fair. The event will feature talks and the participation of companies specialised in the digital transformation. The trade fair has also opened up to all those companies based in Spain that offer solutions for the textiles production, not just knit fabrics manufacturers.

The fourth edition of the BSTIM trade fair is organised by Fira d’Igualada and Agrupació Tèxtil FAGEPI, with the support of the City Council of Igualada. It will be held at Escorxador d’Igualada, hosting 60 exhibitors and is expected to welcome around 1,400 visitors.
