Interfilière Paris, a leading international intimates, swimwear and activewear sourcing and fabrics trade fair, will take place from 21-23 January, where it will showcase the Spring/Summer 2018 trends in a special General Forum area.
The show will celebrate the creativity and technical accomplishments of its exhibitors, and the role of lingerie and swimwear in the future of modern women. The trade show will also look at lingerie's real value – the idea of dreamy lightness and beauty that makes lingerie different from all other apparel, organisers report.
Major themes
The trends are divided into four main themes under the title An invitation to the senses. The first trend is called Floral Garden and it celebrates the flower and leaf motifs of every kind, from naive to romantic to pictorial, with eclecticism at the key of the design inspiration.
The Erotic Garden theme represents a bounty of exotic sensuality and rich oriental and paradisiacal symbolism, with creative and imaginative designs. The Garden of the Mind trend is about fully aware creativity going beyond natural fibres and durability concepts. Finally, the Techno Garden trend takes you from the concert stage to the gym, reinventing new rhythms for living.
Forum events
Jessica Haughton, a young graduate from Trent University in England, gained attention during Graduate Fashion Week in London. She will present a collection based on her end-of-year fashion show with 3D printed lingerie pieces combining a lightweight knit with transparent silicone.
A selection of European embroiderers were invited to let loose their creativity and go beyond business restrictions to create special, unique, and personalised lingerie embroideries.
Eastman, a US manufacturer of cellulosic yarn, will be introducing its new brand to the intimate apparel market. The new brand’s story and its showpiece knit will be revealed during the vernissage of the Forum.
