Yarn Expo Autumn 2014, attended by nearly 150 overseas and domestic yarn suppliers, opens its doors on 20 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2014 and PH Value.
The fair will be welcoming nearly 150 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, including Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Mainland China, Pakistan, Seychelles, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
Debut showcase
Other than for sourcing, this Autumn edition will feature a special demonstration by the Knitwear Innovation and Design Society (KIDS) from Hong Kong.
Four of its member companies will participate this time, including Shima Seiki (Hong Kong), which will showcase its APEX3 design software that integrates the production process into one efficient workflow.
This software can also produce a vivid simulation effect of the end product, which helps to save sampling costs for users.
Knitted cashmere and merino wool
Another two yarn makers, namely KPC Yarn and Consinee Group, will introduce their new product collections. KPC, for example, will showcase its wool fibres, and cotton-wool blended and cashmere yarns.
Consinee will present its cashmere and mohair high count yarns. Hale Textiles, on the other hand, will display its fashion collection Life is full of fun, featuring knitted cashmere and merino wool outfits with digital prints.
Latest product collections
“More of our exhibitors are featuring eco products this year,” said Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK). “Many of our exhibitors want to tap into the rising textile consumption in the country, especially that of eco textiles.”
International exhibitors will be showcasing their latest product collections at the fair. These will include a wide spectrum of natural and blended yarns including cotton, wool, flax / regenerated flax, and man-made fibres and yarns as well as specialty products including elastic, and fancy and blended yarns.
