Mare di Moda, the leading European exhibition for beach, swimwear and lingerie fabrics and accessories, will host its Miami edition from 18-20 July at the W Hotel South Beach, where it will welcome 14 European manufacturers of fabrics and accessories, who will present a preview of their collections for Summer 2017.
“Our mission to Miami has a double value – exploring the American market in team and studying the purchasing dynamics of the US manufacturers, which today care more about quality in consequence of the Euro devaluation,” explained Marco Borioli, President of MarediModa.
“They perceive a timid return to a well-made or at least better-made production. Our mission aims also to promote our exhibition in Cannes, which will take place in November and is also part of the recurrent programme of initiatives carried out in markets, which are considered important for the European industry of beachwear.”
American market
Mare di Moda Miami is an exclusive meeting with the aim to put in touch a selection of European companies exhibiting in Cannes with the leading US beachwear brands.
According to many companies taking part at MarediModa, the US is a target country due to its recent reshoring policies, which is bringing back production to America with a consequent return of purchasing in Europe.
The continuous weakening of Euro against Dollar, which posted a decrease from 1.38 to 1.08 in a year, has also strengthened the idea of arranging an exploratory mission in the USA.
Swim Week
It was decided to organise an event concurrently with the Swim Week in Miami, an event that gathers the most important brands not only from the USA, but also from abroad.
The exhibition is seen as the occasion where retailers can explore some end products. It provides the perfect timing to present a preview of fabric collection and an opportunity for the 14 European producers to test the potential of the American market.
