Texworld USA is has announced the return of the Proexport Colombia pavilion at the July 2014 show. Proexport is the Colombian Government Trade Bureau responsible for promoting foreign investment, international tourism and non-traditional exports.
“We are excited to announce that Colombia will be participating in Texworld USA for the second consecutive year. In the seventeenth edition of this important sourcing event, you will find exhibit booths featuring the top Colombian companies in the industry,” commented Sylvia Reyes, Apparel and Textiles Director USA, Proexport Colombia.
“Our companies offer efficient solutions for sourcing and manufacturing in a variety of categories and in different capacities, fast replenishment response, as well as printing, finishing and value-added processes not easily found in other production hubs.”
Major supplier
Colombia’s textile and apparel industry has over 100 years of experience in manufacturing and production of apparel textiles and is a major supplier in the global market. Since the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in 2012, Colombia and the US, have both benefited from increased trade opportunities and substantial growth potential in the garment and textile industries.
The apparel industry has become one of Colombia’s fastest growing sectors experiencing a 34.6% growth between May 2012 and December 2013. According to Proexport Colombia, between May 2012 and December 2013, 209 textile and apparel companies had first time exports to the United States as a direct result of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Sylvia Reyes, Apparel and Textiles Director USA, Proexport Colombia, will be a featured speaker at Texworld USA presenting ‘Made in Americas’.
This complimentary seminar will discuss market demands for supply chain flexibility and the elimination of constraints by working with suppliers located in the Western Hemisphere.
Best apparel fabric suppliers
There are currently over 800 Colombian companies providing a wide array of apparel textiles and accessories.
The Proexport Colombia pavilion will feature six of the country’s apparel fabric and accessory suppliers covering a wide range of categories, including lingerie, sleepwear, men’s and women’s sportswear, swimwear, special occasion, leather and apparel accessories.
