Divided into two zones, both on the street level, the main hall boasts 28,000 sq feet of total exhibition space filled with natural light. A marquee adjacent to the main hall also affords an additional 15,000 sq feet of exhibition space, hosting 20 companies and trend areas.

Spinexpo is an essential meeting point for all those working in the textile sector, including activewear, knitwear, hosiery, socks, footwear, and hand knitting. Over the past 15 years, Spinexpo has been used as an important tool providing buyers with a sector overview, latest trends, knitwear solutions and fibre innovations.

Colour-changing knitwear

Yarns & Colors, a fancy yarn sector spinner, owns its own spinning factories, dyeing and finishing facilities, as well as knitting plants. The company produces both fancy yarns and high-end knitted garments and combines yarn development and garment production.

The company brought its skills to cooperate with Spinexpo’s Green is the Colour Trend Area and is presenting its colour-changing knitwear and optical illusion swatches, which show different pictures when viewed from different angles.

“For fancy yarns, most of the new developments tend to be on the mechanical production side. To distinguish ourselves, we focus on innovative dyeing and finishing techniques, which are harder to copy,” commented Jacky Chen, Director of Yarns & Colors.

Santoni Pioneer Programme

Santoni comes to New York with a new initiative. The company is presently looking to invite five new stylists to stay three months at the company’s Shanghai factory as part of its Santoni Pioneer Programme, a training course designed to encourage young talented designers to explore the company’s seamless knitting technology.

At Spinexpo New York and Shanghai, Santoni will present the results of the programme’s first session that hosted knitwear flat-knitting stylists from UK, Italy, Sweden and China. Santoni also backs up Spinactive, a trend project handled by Eva DeLaat, a consultant for Santoni China.

Trends

The trend areas of Spinexpo will host leaders in yarn development using the best technical capabilities and the most innovative yarns.

In order to put more focus on specific and latest products, the exhibition will display capsule collections of garments using the latest yarn developments offered by key spinners, styled by aspiring knitwear stylists, and sponsored by key knitwear manufacturers using the latest developments in textile machinery.
