Zegna Baruffa, an Italian specialist in the production of fine yarns for top-quality knitwear, together with its Chiavazza and Botto Poala lines, presents a new collection of yarns for Autumn/Winter 2016-2017 season.
The company also introduces H2DRY, an exclusive and unique manufacturing process developed to allow the application of a special treatment to new yarns and fibers, in accordance with the needs of the market.
Thanks to the H2DRY process, designed to help achieve unique characteristics in yarns, wool is said to acquire new performance features by becoming elastic, easy-to-care, crease-resistant, and breathable, the company reports.
Baruffa line
Performance yarns and new fancy yarns enrich the new Baruffa Yarns Collection, also featuring the company’s historical wool Cashwool yarn blend. Top selected Mohair and Alpaca are in the forefront of this collection.
The H2DRY process is used to add certain characteristics to K-WOOL yarn and Wooland, the easy care yarn blend of wool and polyamide, in order to give origin to a new high quality yarn. One of the highlights of this collection is Airy, a blend of mohair and wool, a worsted yarn as light and impalpable as air, ideal to create ethereal and hyper-feminine garments, the company reports.
The collection represents a contract between traditional and performance wool yarns, as well as an unusual combination of components and structures, such as Alpasoft and Alpalight light fancy yarns – the new face of Alpaca.
Chiavazza line
Chiavazza’s traditional approach means it uses yarns developed a while ago and perfected over the years, aiming to achieve constant and unaltered quality level. For Autumn/Winter 2016-17 season, however, the company decided to take a different approach.
Cashmere 2/28 is accompanied by the newborn Contemporary Cashmere, keeping its precious heritage. The garments become more compact, but without compromising their traditional softness and lightness, which are the unique properties of cashmere.
Babà, an iconic yarn, is renewed by its new Lurex version, whilst Supergeelong has been updated in Woolight version, resulting in a distinct appearance and hand-feel.
Botto Poala line
This line pays tribute to the tradition, yet includes a reference to the up-to-date technology that can be used to achieve the unique and creative yarns.
The H2DRY process was used to produce RE-ACTIVE and K-CASHMERE, a 50% cashmere 50% wool performance yarn, which is easy care, breathable, crease-resistant, and naturally elastic.
And for different needs, JADE offers a combination of wool/silk /cashmere, a yarn that can be washed in the washing machine without sacrificing its performance. In addition to the well-known and well-established fancy yarns, Country Felt is also a highlight of this collection.
