Cotton remains the most widely used natural fibre in the textile industry, with increasing demand for organic and sustainable options. As fashion houses and retailers prioritise eco-friendly sourcing, Yarn Expo Spring, scheduled for 11 – 13 March 2025, will showcase a diverse range of cotton-based yarns. More than 500 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions are expected, including nearly 90 specialising in cotton yarns.

Sustainability is a key theme at this year's event. The market for recycled cotton yarn continues to grow, aligning with circular fashion trends. Manufacturers are tapping into this shift, with the global organic cotton market projected to expand at a CAGR of 44.4% until 2030. India, the world’s second-largest cotton yarn producer, holds a 31.2% market share and will play a central role at the fair.

India Pavilion to spotlight quality cotton

The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) will lead India's presence at the India Pavilion, highlighting the nation’s expertise in cotton and blended yarns. Participating exhibitors include:

Amar International: A leading exporter of Indian cotton yarns, raw cotton, and fabrics, recognised for its high-quality offerings.

GDJD International Pvt Limited: Supplying premium yarns that meet the ‘Uster 5%’ standard, ensuring superior evenness and contamination control.

Le Merite Fashions Private Limited: A manufacturer of cotton yarn and greige fabrics, known for its OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100-certified sustainable products.

Mr Murali Balkrishna, Joint Director of Texprocil, noted the fair’s significance: “Yarn Expo has been an effective business platform, attracting buyers from China and beyond for India’s high-quality cotton yarn.”

New international exhibitors join Yarn Expo Spring

Several global players will make their debut at the event, capitalising on China’s peak textile sourcing season:

Kenan Ozsoy Textile Apparel-Construction Marketing Industry and Ltd Co (Türkiye): Offering an extensive range of yarns, including organic, blended, and dyed varieties.

PT Embee Plumbon Tekstil (Indonesia): Specialising in OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100-certified yarns for apparel, automotive, and technical textiles.

Yarn Expo Spring is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT. It will run alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC, and PH Value, enhancing business networking opportunities.
