The upcoming Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition is set to take place from 11-13 March 2025, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The show continues to cement its position as the world's leading apparel textile sourcing platform, promising a comprehensive showcase of the latest in sustainable and digital textile innovations.
Following a significant rise in international participation at both the Spring and Autumn 2024 Editions, the fair has announced an exciting lineup of zones, forums, and fringe events that highlight themes of sustainability, functionality, and technological transformation in textiles.
Key Features for 2025
At the heart of the Spring 2025 event are several standout features:
Intertextile Directions Trend Forum: Offering insights into Spring/Summer 2026 trends, this forum remains a must-see for forward-thinking brands and designers.
Econogy Hub: Building on its successful debut in Autumn 2024, this zone will showcase sustainable products and services while hosting Econogy Talks and offering buyers access to eco-focused suppliers through the online Econogy Finder tool.
Digital Solutions Zone: A growing highlight of the fair, this space will feature AI-driven technologies, including fabric search, pattern generation, and 3D visualisation tools, alongside advanced design systems and software.
Specialty Zones: Visitors can explore diverse areas like Functional Lab, Beyond Denim, Accessories Vision, SalonEurope, Premium Wool Zone, Digital Printing Zone, and Verve for Design.
Reflecting on the fair’s success, Ms. Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: "Our two shows this year attracted nearly 8,000 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions, showcasing an unmatched variety of products. Beyond its sourcing capabilities, Intertextile remains a hub for innovation and industry dialogue. The return of the Econogy Hub and Digital Solutions Zone further solidifies the fair's commitment to sustainable and digital transformation, ensuring it continues to lead the way in global textile evolution."
Both the Spring and Autumn Editions of 2024 marked a strong comeback for the fair, with notable increases in international participation. Key highlights from 2024 included:
Spring Edition: A 99% surge in international visitors, with an 87% return rate for overseas buyers.
Autumn Edition: Over 50 fringe events, 25 of which focused on sustainability, and the successful launch of Malaysia and Uzbekistan pavilions.
Enhanced global accessibility
China's extension of visa-free travel for 16 countries until the end of 2025 has further boosted international participation, with significant visitor growth from Belgium, France, Spain, and Switzerland.
Ms. Linda Wegelin, Chief Commercial Officer of Testex AG, emphasised the importance of these developments, saying: "The visa-free initiative is vital for international trade. The fair has regained its pre-pandemic vibrancy, providing an engaging and innovative platform to explore sustainable solutions across the supply chain."
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will run alongside Yarn Expo Spring, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC, and PH Value, creating unparalleled opportunities for networking and cross-sector collaboration.
