At FILO 63, Davifil has introduced its latest innovation, Cotone Biolana OE, a revolutionary yarn crafted entirely from recycled materials. This launch aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly textile solutions.
The cotton in Cotone Biolana OE is derived from garment production scraps and fabric offcuts, which are shredded and reprocessed into fibre. The wool component originates from combed spinning waste, including ribbons and fibre residues discarded during production. These materials are blended and spun using the open-end system, creating a sustainable yet high-quality yarn.
Cotone Biolana OE is available in four natural colour variations, all certified by the Global Recycle Standard (GRS): Oak and Amber (brown tones) and Steel and Ash (grey tones).
The darker shades, Steel and Amber, consist of 50% Cotton – 50% Wool, while the lighter shades, Oak and Ash, have a composition of 80% Cotton – 20% Wool.
This innovative yarn further strengthens Davifil’s position in the sustainable textile sector, offering high-quality solutions without compromising environmental responsibility.
Founded in 1973 in Biella, Italy, Davifil specialises in producing and commercialising high-quality yarns for apparel, furnishings, and knitwear. With over 50 years of experience, the company continues to drive innovation through research and a market-driven approach, providing tailor-made solutions to its clients.
Sustainability is a fundamental value for Davifil. The company prioritises natural and renewable raw materials, minimising the environmental impact of its production processes. Responsible practices, such as utilising renewable energy and eco-friendly yarn treatments, are embedded in every stage of production. Davifil’s products hold certifications including GOTS, GRS, RAF, European Flax, and Ethic-et.
