Leading flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki has shared an interesting client testimonial from Verona, Italy based Diamant Srl, a manufacturer specialised in high end performance cycling shoes.

Based in the Veneto region of Northeast Italy, an area known for its strong knitting traditions, Diamant uses the latest Shima Seiki flat knitting technology to make 3D knitted shoe uppers, which are used by some of Italy’s top cyclists.

Diamant is a shoe manufacturer that performs OEM production of high-performance sport shoes in addition to its original shoe brand DMT in the city of Verona in the Veneto region of northern Italy, Shima reports.

The KR1 cycling shoe developed in collaboration with 2018 Italian champion sprinter Elia Viviani, is knitted on Shima Seiki's SWG091N2 15G WHOLEGARMENT flat knitting machine.

By using 3D knit for the entire upper and reinforcing the inside of the shoe, a comfortable, sock-like fit is realized that softly wraps the foot.
