
Intertextile Shanghai presents Spring/Summer 2020 trends
Industry leaders to discuss sustainability, digitalisation, and fashion trends at leading fabrics show.

The full spectrum of apparel textiles will be showcased across seven halls at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) during Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition. Taking place from 11-13 March, the event will host over 3100 exhibitors displaying the latest innovations in fashion fabrics, accessories, functionality, sustainability, and digital transformation.
Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: “Intertextile Apparel reflects market demands, highlighting four key segments: on-trend fashion, functionality, sustainability, and digitalisation. Visitors will not only source cutting-edge products but also gain expert insights into design, trends, technology, and eco-friendliness. The fair provides an essential platform for industry players to connect and exchange ideas.”
Fringe programme highlights
The event’s fringe programme will feature leading companies and crucial industry topics. The Econogy Talks panel discussion will include speakers from Ecocert, Lenzing, Redress, and the Taiwan Textile Federation, discussing challenges and opportunities in global textile circularity. TextileGenesis, a Lectra company, will present on supply chain traceability, while an Econogy Tour will highlight eco-focused exhibitors.
A panel titled ‘Shaping the Future of Sustainability Through Innovation’ will feature Eastman, High Fashion, HKRITA, and TextileGenesis discussing sustainability obstacles and cooperation. Additionally, the International Textile Industry Digital Application Forum will explore digital transformation in the sector.
Fashion trends will be in focus with presentations from Ms Ornella Bignami of Elementi Moda on colour and fabric trends for Spring/Summer 2026, followed by Pantone Color Institute’s Laurie Pressman discussing key seasonal influences. Ms Bignami will also lead three guided tours of the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum.
Exhibitor highlights and zones
The International Hall (5.1) will host exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, including new participants from Bangladesh, Belgium, Egypt, Sweden, and Thailand. Featured zones include the Digital Solutions Zone, Econogy Hub, Functional Lab, Premium Wool Zone, SalonEurope, and Verve for Design.
Country and region pavilions and zones are: France Zone, Hong Kong Pavilion, Italy Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, Korea Pavilion, Taiwan Pavilion, Türkiye Zone,
Group pavilions: Ecocert, Korea Textile Center (KTC), Lenzing
Domestic exhibitors will be grouped by product categories such as Accessories Vision (1.2), Beyond Denim (7.2), ladieswear (5.1, 7.1 & 8.1), suiting and shirting (6.1), dyeing auxiliaries and functional wear (6.2), and casualwear, lingerie, synthetic leather, and children’s wear (7.2).
The fair is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Centre. It will take place alongside Yarn Expo Spring, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC, and PH Value.
