After attracting nearly 20,000 visits from 45 countries and regions last year, Yarn Expo Shenzhen is set to return from 11-13 June 2025 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian). The event will further strengthen South China’s role as a textile innovation hub, leveraging modern infrastructure and China’s expanded visa-free policies to connect domestic and international markets. The city remains a key destination for apparel brands, designers, and manufacturers in the knitting and underwear sectors.
Held alongside Intertextile Shenzhen and two other apparel shows, the fair will promote industry exchange across the textile value chain, showcasing in-demand yarns and fibres while hosting fringe events highlighting sustainability and innovation.
According to the show’s organiser Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong. the global yarn, fibre and thread market is projected to reach USD 138.7 billion by 2029 at a CAGR of 6.4%, with Asia-Pacific holding the largest share. China’s expanded visa-free policy, now covering 18 more countries with extended stay durations of up to 30 days, further promotes economic opportunities. Yarn Expo Shenzhen plays a critical role in facilitating international trade and industry connectivity in this thriving market.
Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: “Held in mid-summer between the Shanghai editions, Yarn Expo Shenzhen aims to foster a comprehensive dialogue in South China, enhancing sustainable practices and international collaboration. Previous editions have proven the success of this positioning, and we look forward to cultivating more business connections in 2025.”
The Greater Bay Area continues to reinforce its economic strength with an effective supply chain, supporting sustained business growth. Strategically located at the heart of this textile production hub, the Shenzhen fair is well positioned to drive innovation and industry expansion.
The 2025 edition will feature seven specialised zones, including the Cashmere Yarn Zone, Chemical Fibre Zone, Cotton Yarn Zone, Fancy Yarn Zone, Linen Yarn Zone, Wool Yarn Zone, and the International Yarn Zone. Additionally, it will introduce the New Green Fibre Materials display zone alongside other trend-focused fringe events, helping shape the future of textiles.
Reflecting on last year’s success, Mr Mohsin Ghoniya from the Textile Division of Global Tex, India, remarked: “We received a lot of positive feedback. Shenzhen has a vibrant knitting market, and our 20 carded knitting yarn proved highly popular in the Guangdong region, securing orders from sweater manufacturers.”
Similarly, Mr Xie Yongxian, Sales Manager of Foshan Anxin Fiber Technology Co Ltd, noted: “The demand for high-performance, eco-friendly fibres is increasing. Staying updated on raw material advancements is essential for industry breakthroughs, making this fair an important development-oriented event.”
Yarn Expo Shenzhen 2025 will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics, BIRD Fashion Fair, and PH Value, providing a comprehensive sourcing platform for the textile industry.
Yarn Expo Shenzhen is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; China Cotton Textile Association; and China Chemical Fibers Association.
