Abstract of WO2008081578
A fabric knitting method and a design device in a weft knitting machine capable of inserting a warp in which knitting efficiency can be enhanced by decreasing the number of traveling courses of a carriage required for knitting such a fabric that at least one side of a warp section become a weft section. Warp sections (5, 3, 6) are knitted by the rightward traveling of a carriage and a weft section (2) on a knitting width starting side is knitted by a cam system following that cam system. Since a yarn feeder used for knitting the section (2) enters warp sections (5, 3), it is made to retreat to the section (2) side at least when the next warp is fed and reset from the retreat position before knitting of the section (2) is started by the next leftward traveling of the carriage. Similarly, a yarn feeder used for knitting a section (4) is made to retreat when a warp is fed and reset before knitting is started. The section (4) is knitted by a cam system knitting a warp section or a cam system knitting a weft section.
