The current high demand for protective clothing is causing bottlenecks in some areas, including bands for face masks. Leading textile machinery manufacturer has developed a simple solution for producing elastic tapes for mouth and nose masks in large quantities – its tricot machines with two guide bars for elastic fabrics can be converted to the production of tapes in, what the company calls, a completely and uncomplicated way.
Karl Mayer says its highly productive warp knitting machines can produce tapes for up to 15 million masks per month.

“Today the tapes are mainly produced in Asia on weaving machines. By using the warp knitting machines available in Europe, regional bottlenecks can be eliminated quickly and easily,” Karl Mayer said.
