Santoni is to emphasize the vital importance it attaches to China and Asia by presenting some of its most ultra-modern new models in both circular seamless and large diameter machines at Shanghaitex which kicks off this Friday, 12 June.
As the world has seen in the last decade or so, China has become the so-called ‘factory of the world’. Santoni is convinced that it will witness in the coming years, China becoming one of the top and most important consumers in the world. With this belief in mind, Santoni is putting extra special effort into the 25th Anniversary of Shanghaitex by presenting at its booth, carefully studied models of its latest Research & Development innovations from both its circular seamless and large diameter divisions.
Santoni is convinced that the two most important Chinese textile machinery exhibitions, Shanghaitex and ITMA ASIA + CITME, both held in Shanghai in different years, are absolute ‘musts’ for leading textile machine builders. Santoni believes that, being held in a world city, that is placed in a key position both in Asia and the Pacific Ocean, these two shows offer a window not only to the immense and incredibly important Chinese market, but also to the rest of the all important Asian markets as well as to some equally vital emerging markets of Latin America from across the South Pacific.
SM9-MF and SM9-MFS - high production double jersey seamless
In seamless innovations, Santoni will show for the first time in China, its new SM9- MF and SM9-MFS, a junior variant of the SM9 MF. Santoni says that this double jersey machine is the perfect answer for producing seamless body-size wear with the highest productivity. The machines are also available in ultra-fine gauges in the classical and ever required true rib stripers, jacquards, links-links, and eyelet fabrics and with rib border or welt and yarn separation.
Santoni says that the high production, versatile configuration and fineness up to 20 gauge makes this 12 feed machine the latest and most convenient producer for all those classical garments of under and outerwear to be made in volume and high quality at competitive costs, the company adds.
New high production SM8-TR1 with adjacent stitch transfer
Also for the first time in Asia, Santoni will show its new SM8 -TR1. This single jersey machine is again a model designed to offer the knitter very high production, versatility and very competitive performance costs for seamless wear tending towards the outer and sportswear market. Besides high quality yarn plating, this machine is based on the Santoni patented system of adjacent needle to needle stitch transfer. Moreover, the fine 24 gauge version which will be shown at Shanghaitex, also produces the essential eyelet fabric formation, so important for breathable athletic and hygienic comfort effects as well as the shaping effects by means of needle exclusions so important in outerwear and sports garments. The 8 feed machine is the latest and most convenient producer for those sport and outerwear garments to be made in volume, in quality and in variety at competitive costs.
Vignoni Atlas - ultra-fine gauge large diameter
In the large diameter Vignoni division, Santoni will première two new developments for China. The first new development in this area is the Atlas single jersey open width or tubular machine for ultra fine fabrics in 50, 54 and 62 gauge. Faithful to its speciality of producing quality fabrics at high production rates, this new model called Atlas, has been designed to knit without sinkers. Instead, a new patented Santoni ‘comb’ system does the work of the sinkers without the negative side effects that can often disturb the fabric formation at these ultra fine gauges. The new comb also makes the take down effect less determining.
Iris - new single jersey striper
The second large diameter development which Santoni will show is the Iris single jersey striper, in tubular format. Inspired by the versatile technologies of the Santoni range of different knitting machines, this is a new way to conceive and build a large diameter striper machine unique in its kind. The machine is expected to give to the knitter higher productivity, more versatility, extreme ease in cylinder and gauge changing and the use of a greater range of yarns by adopting full electronic management of the stripers in which the respective yarn fingers can be exchanged in any position in the cylinder independently of each other, as the control of each striper is individual.
New 3D software for Mecmor
For garment length fine gauge circular knitwear, there is new software for Mecmor. With the rising demand of finer gauges and the claimed sequential productivity advantages of circular over flat, Santoni will show its Mecmor open width garment length circular knitwear machine with new software for three-dimensional stitch simulation, thereby reducing dramatically the times for sampling or evaluating new products.
Santoni says that the software is very similar to that used on the leading flat bed machines so that knitters used to the flat bed software will find synergies when moving to Santoni’s well known Mecmor open width garment length machine.
Chinese built Santoni machines
Also on Santoni’s booth will be some of the seamless and large diameter machines which are produced in the Santoni China factory in Shanghai. These machines, while maintaining the company’s strict European quality standards and inventiveness of the parent company, have the important feature of being very competitive and lower cost.
Production of Santoni’s seamless machines started several years ago in China, and the company has had very encouraging success in both volume and in maintaining its leadership in the Chinese market. The newer large diameter model called Panda, has just come out this year in its first series and the company says that it is beginning to be ordered in China, Asia, and other emerging markets.
Lonati range on show
Sharing a booth at Shanghaitex will be the whole textile machinery Lonati-Santoni group. Lonati, world leader in its field and already a huge supplier of the highest performance hosiery and socks machines to China for some decades, will exhibit a whole collection of some of its finest hosiery and socks machines as well as some models in the important and growing medical hosiery market.
Finally, with the rising automation of China’s textile and clothing factories, Santoni will show one of the latest developments in the field of hosiery make-up and post knitting equipment with its new Line closer 360 and Toe closer that combines simplicity and efficiency for very attractive economic performance.
