The Opportunity

In late May 2020, we are taking delivery of a number of advanced socks knitting machines by Busi Giovanni, with auto toe linking and automated software. This technology will allow us to produce a wide range of adult sized knitted socks to the exact specifications of our customers. In addition to that, the machinery will be easier to use compared to older technology.

We are interested in recruiting a talented socks technician to operate and service the machinery.

The candidate will bring expertise to Kingly. The rewards are great as Kingly take care of their own. The position will be permanent.

Requirements

Although the position is based in Sofia Bulgaria, the candidate does not have to speak Bulgarian. All the Kingly team speak English. 5 years or more experience in running sock-knitting machinery is essential and it will be a benefit if the candidate has prior experience on single cylinder Busi sock knitting machines. However, training will be given at Busi Giovanni.

Other requirements/ duties:

• Experience in sock design is essential. Training will be given on the new machinery and it is important to be able create technical designs and artwork for men and women’s socks

• The candidate must have a passion for style and fashion, be aware and ahead of trends and have knowledge of the market we play in

• Manage multiple projects at various stages through design, development and start of production / completion

• Responsible for the technical knit design of assigned styles to on time and 100% ready for commercialization

• Translate graphic/print/pattern from the creative team into technical designs that can be applied to socks

• Manage all design resources internally, externally, and cross functionally to achieve desired outcomes of sock category

• Ability or understanding to create technical files for jacquards, textures, print and pattern

• Strong knowledge of yarns, textile, knit and performance products

• Critique, adjust and evaluate design concepts and prototypes from a performance, manufacturing, and functional perspective, extend expertise to problem solve

• Research trends, silhouette, style, and emerging technologies for technical knits

• Organize and prioritize daily workload of assigned product to maintain production calendar
