To date, over 100 German textile machinery builders, including their Chinese subsidiaries have registered for  ITMA ASIA + CITME 2010 in Shanghai (22–26 June) via the country’s VDMA Textile Machinery Association.

The list of exhibitors includes all of the well known manufacturers who will show their innovative ‘Made in Germany’ textile production technology to visitors from all over Asia and other parts of the world. According to the VDMA, most companies expect an increase in demand from China, the most important market for the sector and this positive development is also confirmed by the latest report on the economy of the VDMA’s liaison office in China.

Knitting machinery builders exhibiting include Stoll, Karl Mayer and its subsidiary Karl Mayer-Malimo and Mayer & Cie. Other knitting industry exhibitors are Bruckner, Theis in dyeing and finishing, Groz-Beckert, Kern-Liebers, Christoph Liebers and Betex in needles, elements and parts  and Memminger-Iro and Klüber Lubrication.

The timing of ITMA ASIA + CITME 2010 fits with improving business conditions in Asia and after the all time low in January and February 2009, China's textile industry has gradually recovered. Experts from India's textile sector also expect things to settle down during the first half of this year.

“Although being back on track again, the cost pressure on textile producing enterprises will remain high and additional tasks are under way since governments in Asia are adopting stricter environmental standards. Sustainability has become an issue textile mills have to address for cost as well as for legal reasons. German textile machinery manufacturers are offering solutions for higher energy and material efficiency that can help Asian textile producers to realise substantial cost savings thus giving them a competitive edge,” the VDMA Textile Machinery Association said.
