Knitting machine manufacturers have historically been well represented at ShanghaiTex and Karl Mayer is no exception - the leading warp knitting machine manufacturer will be showcasing some of its latest innovations at the June show in Shanghai.
Karl Mayer’s warp knitting machine highlights will include the new TM 4 EL and MJ 42/1 B, a completely revamped HKS 2-SE and an RD 7/2-12 EL, which will all be shown on an area of 744 square metres. The German company will also be presenting its latest developments in the field of warp preparation.
The new TM 4 machine produces plain fabrics with four guide bars and complements the TM 4-T, which is designed to produce terry fabrics - the machine can also be equipped with the EL facility and will also be shown at ShanghaiTex. The technical features of both machines are identical, both are available as N or EL versions, and their performance profile is the same. Karl Mayer says that speeds of up to 1400 rpm, a high degree of user-friendliness and excellent product quality make the new TM 4 ideal for producing apparel fabrics as well as semi-technical textiles.
The TM 4 EL, which will be producing a shoe fabric at ShanghaiTex has a standard working width of 186 inches and is available in gauges of E 28 and E 32. The TM 4-T EL will be demonstrating all of its performance capabilities by producing terry fabrics extremely efficiently, the company says.
In addition to the latest developments in the TM series, visitors will also be able to see the latest innovations in high-speed, two-bar tricot machines. Here, Karl Mayer has focused its development work on increasing the machine speed. The modifications that have been made to the HKS 2-SE mainly relate to the knitting motion and the guide bars, which have been completely redesigned. These measures have increased the speed by as much as 12.5% compared to the previous model – and can also be seen in Shanghai.
The HKS 2-SE with a working width of 130 inches will be producing a two-way stretch fabric in a gauge of E 36 at the show. The bi-elastic fabric is intended for use in the swimwear and sportswear sectors and can also be used in lingerie.
Another highlight in the lingerie sector that visitors to ShanghaiTex can expect to see will be the new MJ 42/1 B. This new machine is based on the same constructional principles as the ML series, offers a similar range of products as the JL series and “can be obtained to an optimized price-performance ratio,” Karl Mayer adds. “The MJ 42/1 B is also faster than the ML version. This new raschel machine will be demonstrating its high speed when producing stretch lace bands having a width of 14.5 cm. The MJ 42/1 B machine on show has a gauge of E 24 and a working width of 134 inches.”
Karl Mayer will also be showcasing an innovative double-bar raschel machine at the show – the RD 7/2-12 EL. This successful machine will be producing a shoe fabric at ShanghaiTex - demonstrating its full potential.
Karl Mayer’s Warp Preparation Business Unit will be showing its new elastic warping machine, type DSE 21/21 EC. The new machine complements the manufacturer’s range of direct warping machines and is the price:performance-optimised version of the DSE-HH. Compared to the top-of-the-range version, the DSE 21/21 EC produces beams having a reduced maximum diameter. It is designed to meet basic, standard requirements and has an impressive performance profile. In addition to these machines, the performance features of a range of yarn tensioners will be showcased on a demonstration creel on Karl Mayer’s stand, together with an SMS size box.
“All in all, a wide range of new developments will be on show, which will enable this well-known machine building company to maintain its reputation as an innovative trendsetter in the field of warp knitting technology and warp preparation machines. Thanks to the machines on show, completely new textile products, and the expert support and advice of an experienced exhibition team, Karl Mayer’s stand at ShanghaiTex 2013 is well worth a visit,” Karl Mayer said.
