At this week’s Première Vision exhibition in Paris (February 7-9), Iluna Group, headquartered in Milan, Italy, is showcasing its Ultralight range of delicate jacquardtronic laces.
In addition to a focus on responsible ingredients and processes for its latest collection, the company has drawn on its archives and recreated the designs of its Black Label fine lace range by upcycling archive stocks and creating new value through new finishings, while re-weaving from scratch only missing widths, in order to present completely new designs.
In addition, the company is continuing developments with GOTS-certified organic cotton in its collections, adding a natural touch to its Green Label range. Among ingredients chosen for this collection are Renycle and Q-Nova – both GRS-certified pre-consumer recycled polyamide yarns – in addition to Roica EF recycled stretch yarns from Asahi Kasei.
Among new technical developments, Iluna has worked on variable elasticity modules, resulting in reinforced edges or zones of differentiated elasticity that can be variously positioned within the laces. The research continues on FSC-certified pre-dyed viscoses, unexpected metallics, new, very soft viscose cords providing extreme three-dimensional effects, and large microfibre patterns.
The company has also experimented with 16 different natural dyestuffs and continues to invest in technologies that can ensure significant savings in water and energy consumption, including Greendrop – a new GOTS-certified digital pigment printing system.
