“Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.” Lavoisier’s famous law serves as the guiding thread behind Iluna Group’s strategy, creative journey, and production process. In an industry where the notion of “creation” is evolving, Iluna Group embraces transformation as an art form.
As Federica Annovazzi, Creative Director of Iluna Group, explains: “Today, the true art lies in transforming what already exists. For those who invest in research and process technologies, opportunities are vast. Change is linked to events, while transformation is an ongoing cultural, intellectual, and productive process. Iluna prioritises this approach to foster new forms of creativity with personal, innovative, and conscious perspectives.”
At Interfiliere New York, Iluna Group presents key highlights: Plissé and volants as the seasonal stylistic tip, available in a lurex version and fresh floral prints that are GOTS-certified, showcasing significant water savings. A wide range of metallic gleams is also featured, created with lurex and GRS-certified foils.
For the upcoming summer, Iluna Group has developed three inspirational themes:
Simpleness: Amidst the complexities of daily life, true beauty lies in simplicity. This theme draws inspiration from Ken Scott, “The Gardener of Fashion,” whose signature floral patterns bloom across fabrics and outfits.
Essences: Water serves as an essential element, an invisible yet fundamental force in the evolution of life. Inspired by Iris Van Herpen, this concept explores fluidity and the art of movement, creating a seamless blend of body and mind. Sensory design fosters conscious creativity, transforming shape and matter into representations of natural forces.
Divine: Eastern floral motifs convey mysterious and delicate messages, transcending time and aesthetic boundaries. Drawing from Guo Pei’s artistic fusion of Chinese imperial etiquette, European royal fashion, and botanical influences, this theme celebrates the dreamlike geometry of nature.
A pioneer in sustainability, Iluna Group continuously seeks low-impact environmental solutions. Since 2018, it has been GRS-certified for its Green Label range, offering a responsible approach to production that integrates innovation, aesthetics, and quality. The company maintains full control and traceability of its supply chain, measuring sustainability progress using the Higgs Index.
Iluna Group has significantly increased its sustainable production, rising from 3% in 2018 to over 50% in 2022. Since 2016, it has produced 7.5 million metres of Green Label lace, using 92,810 kg of GRS-certified recycled polyamide and saving 1.5 million litres of water. Recent innovations include GRS-certified Lurex nets, special finishes such as printing and flocking, and the use of organic cotton, FSC-certified mass-dyed viscose, and ROICA EF recycled stretch fibre.
