Karl Mayer says its new raschel machine, the RSE 4-1 has turned out to be the right machine at the right time and the right price. As the German company’s first raschel machine with a carbon-fibre-reinforced composite guide bars, the innovative RSE 4-1 first appeared in the market in April this year and has since become a best seller, especially in China.

According to Karl Mayer, over 400 RSE 4-1 high-tech production machines were sold in the first six months alone, after its premiere. The reason given for the run on the RSE 4-1 is its unique productivity. The use of carbon-fibre-reinforced composite materials in the guide bar region and a corresponding adaptation of the machine concept permit a speed of 2600 rpm and extend the temperature window for trouble-free operation from +/-2 °C to +/-7 °C.

In addition, Karl Mayer has encountered growing demand for high-grade power net made on the RSE 4-1, especially in China. The raschel fabric is lightweight, transparent and has excellent extensibility. Combined with flock technology or embroidery, for example, the light fabric will put a bit of life into the underwear and foundation garment sectors, Karl Mayer says.

“New designs ensure that a wind of change is blowing yet again through the very well-run RSE business – and for stylish and elegant clothing. Thus delicate mesh qualities printed with tattoo patterns, which are used to produce cuffs, create colour on the skin and leggings with a two-layer design create a summery fishnet-stocking effect in the middle of winter,” a spokesperson for Karl Mayer said.

“The part of the fabric combination next to the skin keeps the heat in, as it consists of a flesh-coloured pile fabric. On the other hand, power net on the outside makes the leggings – an illusion of bare legs which can make the ice melt. However, using the same design principle for a patterned ground fabric, it is possible to produce dresses, shirts and skirts.”

Karl Mayer says that Chinese manufacturers in particular are very inventive here. Textile companies in the South and East of China especially in the provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu and Fujian are the main customers for the RSE 4-1 machine with carbon-fibre-reinforced composite attachment.

Karl Mayer says it is now continuously improving the efficiency of its successful RSE 4-1. One of the most recent developments is where a screw for securing the guide mountings has been inserted in the ground bars GB 3 and GB 4. The fixing component can now be gripped with a hexagon spanner on both sides. To make matters easier during handling the inner profile of the screw is made universal.
