Automation is becoming increasingly decisive for spinning mills in a highly cyclical industry and to remain competitive, Ugurlular Textile Industry and Trade, based in Denizli, Turkey, has ordered more than 30 piecing robots from Rieter for its ring and compact-spinning machines.

Uğurlular produces over 100 tons of yarn on a daily basis in its ring, compact and open-end factories, exporting to 30 countries.

Since their launch in spring 2019, Rieter has been selling its ROBOspin piecing robots designed for its ring and compact-spinning machines with both new machines and as as an upgrade for existing installations.

The impact of ROBOspin units is proving transformative for many of Rieter’s customers because they are operational around the clock to ensure machine performance remains consistently high and optimises productivity. The units reduce manpower requirements by up to 50% and reliably achieve up to 95% piecing efficiency. Minimal contact between the robot and the yearn preserves quality, ensuring a steady output of high-grade product.

“We believe in investing in technology for a successful future,” said Osman Ugurlu, a member of the board at Ugurlular. “Rieter fully convinced us with its automation solution for ring yarn piecing that will further support us in growing profitably.”
