Expofil is adopting a new look for the edition taking place from 9 to 12 February 2010. Like Première Vision, it has been rethought-out by designer Eric Jourdan and set designer Francesca Avossa, adopting the same white and sober architecture of an international city of small buildings.
While the concepts are identical in nature, Expofil sets itself off through specific design touches, which are subtle but nonetheless visible. The stand facades, which are made of a luminescent white DuPont Corian, feature personalised graphics that play off the show's logo and up and down the aisles, contribute to an immediate visual identification. The same high-design corporate graphic is also found in the show's signage.
With the show's new look comes a new visual identity, contributing to a dynamic, energetic and modern promotional campaign. Two powerful words with a visual neatness and structure: ‘Begin’ - to throw oneself energetically into creation - and ‘Dream’, intimately linked, inviting visitors to give way to their imagination, to creativity, with yarn serving as the visible connection between these two concepts.
33 spinners and fibre producers coming from 14 countries have registered as of today for the February edition. The season welcomes two new exhibitors:
BAMEN (Turkey): A company with a spinning capacity of 750tonnes/month and a dyeing unit. It produces yarns on ring (combed and carded) and compact cotton system: cotton, organic cotton, Giza, Supima cotton, blends with Tencel, bamboo, cashmere, viscose. Its principal markets are flat bed, circular knits and socks.
CANAN TEKSTIL (Turkey): Specialists in wool and acrylic hand knitting yarns. Canan also produces fancy yarns for knitwear, socks, gloves and scarves as well as wool yarns for knitting.
Organisers say that, encouraged by the success of its last September show, as judged by both exhibitors and visitors, the Première Vision/Expofil Fashion team will continue to showcase exhibitors' products by creating, in complement to their own samples, specific knit developments. For this February 2010 edition the fabrics will be created in partnership with CELIMENE for the early showcase of winter 2011/12 developments and exhibitors' samples, which will be presented in the forum created by Eric Benqué.
Under the keynote of ‘closer protection’, autumn-winter 2011-12 unveils yarns that offer the possibility of creating warm envelopes, reassuring, seductive and comfortable capsules.
Second-skin, enveloping or fur-like, like a shell or armour, yarns are transformed to cover, preserve and protect man and his environment.
Launched last September, the Pluriel Expert Trails that run through the six shows of Première Vision Pluriel were much applauded by international buyers, who appreciated their efficiency. For the 2nd edition, these are dedicated to two particularly sensitive themes: eco-colour and extreme sports. The ‘Eco-colour’ trail will spotlight companies proposing in their collections products dyed with non-polluting or natural vegetal dyes, or materials in their original natural colours.
As for ‘Extreme Sports’, this trail will favour products with a high technological value, products that will make it possible to push back the limits thanks to exceptional properties (heat regulation, resistance, waterproof etc.) Two trails that should make it possible to display the efforts constantly undertaken by spinners and fibre producers in terms of research and development.
