After its recent launch, Q-GEO by Fulgar has already been chosen by some of the main players in the textile sector for the presentation of the exclusive fashion collections presented at this week's Milano Unica, the benchmark fair for high-end men’s and women’s clothing fabrics and accessories.

The list of prestigious names includes Alto Milanese, an important textile group specialising in knitted fabrics, Borgini, a front-rank company in the production of beach and athleisure wear fabrics, Inwool, a leading company in the manufacture of men’s and women’s Jersey fabrics, and Pontetorto, a textile group based in Tuscany known for its sport and fashion offers. This supply chain synergy lies at the heart of a sustainable approach and the high quality of raw materials.

The four companies have chosen Q-GEO yarn because it offers the characteristics of a classic polyamide in manufacturing processes and use, but also provides other outstanding comfort benefits. Its biological basis also creates a surprising balance of a pleasant feel on the skin and exceptional body moisture management, with an absorbency 50% greater than a normal polyamide, plus greater breathability. As for performance, as well as offering the resistance and durability of a normal polyamide, it also provides ultra-rapid drying and flame-retardant properties without the use of additives.

As much as 46% of Q-GEO fibre is produced from bio-based polyamides derived from non-edible corn that is too old or not suitable for nutritional use. It is important to emphasise that the production of Q-GEO only involves waste corn from industrial cultivation on land that is unsuited for growing food crops. This makes it possible to generate a significant reduction in the environmental blueprint, which is also achieved through reduced water use compared to traditional cotton and lower emission levels of the greenhouse gases whose production is unavoidable when synthesising normal polyamides.

“We’re excited to be present at this year’s Milano Unica with Q-GEO, thanks to our main partners, who share our commitment to a more responsible, traceable supply chain. Our company is constantly researching innovations that not only improve the performance of our products but also have a positive impact on the environment. With Q-GEO we’ve succeeded in creating a combination of excellence and sustainability with a high-quality yarn that can also reduce the environmental footprint,” says Alan Garosi, Head of Marketing for Fulgar.
