This summer, Netherlands based Knitwear Lab is organising more basic and advanced courses on industrial knitwear. The company’s July course is already fully booked but two new courses have been added to its program for August.

The Basic Course will take place from 9-13 August and the Advanced Course from 16-20 August. The curriculum especially caters for knitwear professionals, students and teachers who are interested in gaining extensive knowledge on designing, programming and manufacturing knitwear.

The 5-day intensive program of the Basic Course introduces you to the M1plus pattern software and teaches you how to work with the Stoll ADF and CMS530 flatbed knitting machines, where the practice-oriented approach allows attendees to develop their first knitted swatches. Special focus will be placed on (sustainable) fibres and yarns, Adobe for knitters and developing a Tech Pack in order to communicate in-depth with your programmer or designer.

The Advanced Course will be a continuation of the Basic course, with the 5-day program diving deeper into the above-mentioned subjects. Additionally, attendees will be taught about fully fashioning and stitch designing on a more complex level.

Knitwear Lab is a research and knowledge hub specialised in innovative, sustainable and design-driven knitwear solutions. Both the Basic and Advanced Courses will take place in the company’s Lab in Almere, near Amsterdam.

The courses will be taught by Knitwear Lab’s team of experienced programmers Francesca, Annika, Eerika and Ia along with Thijs Verhaar, Knitwear Lab’s co-founder and knitwear professional, who has over 35 years’ experience.

Costs are EUR 950 per course. All materials and lunch will be included in the price.

More information on the Industrial Knitwear Courses can be found on Knitwear Lab’s website or by contacting Thijs Verhaar at [email protected].
