Netherlands based Knitwear Lab, the lab for innovative, sustainable and design-driven knitwear solutions is launching its own collection of knitted accessories and lifestyle products. The products will showcase leading-edge knitwear techniques, while remaining functional and tastefully designed.

The first launch consists of scarves, socks and bucket hats that are enriched with smart technical details. Instead of working with seasonal collections, Knitwear Lab says it will ‘drop unique products throughout the year’.

The Lab takes environmental and animal welfare to heart. The collection is made with sustainable production techniques: most of the designs are knitted in one-piece, creating almost no waste.

An inspiring example of this is the bucket hat that has been knitted with a special technique in order to create a 3D shape. All woollen scarfs are knitted from extra-fine merino wool, derived from farms that do not use the cruel practice of mulesing.

“For the scarves we use Bemberg Cupro. This regenerated fibre has been made from cotton linter, which is a waste material created during the process of manufacturing cotton,” Knitwear Lab explains.

The collection is designed, developed and produced by the talented programmers and design assistants of the Knitwear Lab team under the creative direction of Cherish Brouwer and Thijs Verhaar in The Netherlands.
