Cashmere World, a new trade show for the global cashmere industry, is to unveil it’s first-ever colour trends developed exclusively for cashmere at the forthcoming show in Beijing, 23 - 25 November 2010.  Entitled Cashmere World Colours, attendees will be offered unique trend directions that focus on the premium qualities of cashmere and set the tone of cashmere trends in coming seasons.

Cashmere World Colours will be developed in collaboration with Paris-based Oliver Guillemin, Chairman of the renowned French Committee of Colour, General Secretary of Intercolor and creative consultant to many well-respected international brands including Louis Vuitton, Swarovski, Woolmark, Shiseido and Thierry Mugler.

The show itself is designed as a 'world stage' for cashmere.  "Cashmere is adored and desired by customers around the world, for its softness and durability, lightweight yet insulative properties.  Up until recently, the industry was missing a vital ingredient to sustainable growth - it was lacking a professional meeting place dedicated to the global cashmere business," said Perrine Ardouin, Event Director at UBM Asia, a subsidiary of fair organisers UBM Ltd.

To fill this gap in the market, UBM and CFNA (China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products) formed a partnership to launch Cashmere World. UBM says it is the only show for the industry that aims to provide a regular, high-standard international meeting place spanning the entire cashmere supply chain.

"The aim of Cashmere World is to be the reference for the global cashmere industry where the latest standards, trends and innovations are disclosed once a year," said CFNA chairman Mr. Bian.

Beijing is the logical venue, Mr. Bian says: “Since China produces over 95% of the world’s cashmere materials and finished products.  Some of its regions, including Inner Mongolia, boast the ideal climate conditions to produce the absolute finest, high-quality cashmere."

Many of the industry's leading companies are already confirmed exhibitors at Cashmere World, including King Deer, Viction, Dagenlai, St.edenweiss, ZhongYin, Springair, JBJ, Kousei, Dongda, Yuanlin, Shuanghe, Endleweiss and more.  Buyers from all around the world and across the supply chain are expected to attend.

Alongside the fair grounds and Cashmere World Colours area, the 3-day show will host a conference highlighting the industry’s key issues. Cashmere World 2010 will take place from 23-25 November, 2010, in Beijing, at the China National Convention Centre, located in the heart of the Olympic Green adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird's Nest).
