German knitwear manufacturer KNIT-CORE is preparing to launch its first seamless 3D knitted collection for Autumn-Winter 2024. The Gomaringen, Baden-Württemberg based company founded in 2023 by Luigi Schillaci, will launch a range of high-quality sustainable knitwear pieces, which will be produced entirely in Germany.

The new KNIT-CORE collection will be manufactured in cooperation with the Nonnenmacher knitting mill in Pliezhausen, and will combine high-quality materials, creative design and the expertise of both companies’ seamless 3D knitting. A special feature will be the on-demand production of the fashion pieces, which aims to set an example for sustainability by preventing overproduction.

Luigi Schillaci expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming project: "We are proud to drive the knitwear industry in Germany forward and offer innovative products. Our passion for knitwear drives us to constantly break new ground and push the boundaries of what is possible."

Range of services

In addition to creating its own collections KNIT-CORE offers a wide range of services including customised flat knitting trainings, comprehensive consulting services, sample and small batch production, as well as creative in-house developments in the field of fashion and technical textiles.  Available are 8 state-of-the-art Stoll flat knitting machines and 2 Universal machines, allowing to cater to a wide range of customer needs with utmost flexibility and efficiency.

Schillaci has over 20 years of experience in flat knitting, having previously worked as an application engineer and technical manager for a leading manufacturer of flat knitting machines in both Germany and the USA. Customers can therefore expect innovative and high-quality solutions.

Technical textiles

In addition to knitwear KNIT-CORE also designs, develops and manufactures technical textiles for a wide range of applications. With its modular Made in Germany 3D knitted room dividers, the company won two prizes at a national textile accelerator called ‘Stoff im Kopf’ in July, which is organised by the Center for Entrepreneurship at Reutlingen University.

The room dividers not only offer aesthetic solutions for interior design, but also practical functions such as sound absorption, mood lighting and additional storage space thanks to knitted-in pockets and the option of adding greenery. Thanks to the possibility of personalisation, companies can also display their unique corporate design. Through such projects, KNIT-CORE aims to demonstrate the diverse possibilities of flat knitting technology.

“The future of the regional knitting industry looks promising - thanks to companies like KNIT-CORE,” concludes Luigi Schillaci.
