Apparel fabric show Première Vision New York and creative textile and surface design show Indigo New York, which will both take place from 22-23 July at the Metropolitan Pavilion and the Altman Building, confirm their US leadership, as they prepare to welcome over 250 exhibitors for the creative fashion industry.
Unique edition
This joint edition is a first for the two shows, which have for the past several seasons been held together during the January edition. This additional step forward in the synergy between the shows organised by Première Vision SA is said to provide a unique and complementary offer of fabrics and textile designs for the fashion market.
"Since purchasing 'Direction' in January 2009, our goal has been to provide North American industry professionals an efficient and creative event. Our exhibitors are expecting from us to create appropriated synergies for the success of their participation. With this unique event at the right time and in the right place, our show is a must-see for the creative fashion industry,” said Gilles Lasbordes, general manager of Première Vision SA.
Attendance
Première Vision New York and Indigo New York bring together 254 design studios, fabric producers and some trim producers. The increase in participants is particularly significant in terms of fabric producers, with 122 exhibitors representing a 15% rise over the January 2013 show and 8% over July 2012. Italian exhibitors are the largest contingent, followed by companies from Turkey and France.
At Indigo New York, 133 exhibitors will be showcasing their collections. This season, 18 new exhibitors take their place alongside the show's loyal design studios. Of the 16 participating countries, the domestic offer is the strongest, followed by United Kingdom. Overall, the textile and surface design show is up by 7% compared to July 2012.
Highlights
The discovery of the new season will be complemented by a full-range of fashion information presented during the two days. In addition to the latest collections from exhibitors, visitors will discover the Autumn/Winter 14-15 trends. The different fashion areas and seminars will focus on the vision of the season.
The shows will also provide a unique opportunity to meet new creative talents. The winner of this year’s Première Vision Grand Jury Prize at the highly creative French fashion competition Hyères Festival, Satu Maaranen, will be presenting her artistic and original collection, ‘Garment in Landscape’.
