As a procurement market, Turkey is increasingly attracting the attention of European buyers. The high-quality production, the reliability of suppliers, even during the pandemic, and the short delivery times speak clearly for the production location on the Bosporus.
Worldwide, Turkey already ranks 5th amongst the most important sourcing markets for the textiles industry - for Europe it is the second most important sourcing location.
At the third edition of Texhibition Istanbul from 8-10 March 2023, more than 400 exhibitors from the segments of knitwear, woven fabrics, denim, yarns and accessories will show their spring/summer 24 collections on 15,000 square metres at the Istanbul Expo Center.
The latest trends in the textiles sector will be brought into focus in a professional and creative manner. Sustainable offers open up innovative production possibilities, and amongst the exhibitors are well-known names such as Kipaş, Bossa, Yünsa, Btd, Çalık, Hefa, İskur, Universal, Gülle and Migiboy.
More than 25,000 visitors are expected at the upcoming Texhibition. These include large clothing manufacturers, purchasing managers of international chains and department stores, managers of international brands and chains with their own brand collections, managers of online platforms, importers, wholesalers, distributors and designers.
A special buyer program is carried out by organiser ITHIB Istanbul Textile Exporters Association for a selected group of VIP buyers that includes, among other things, flights, accommodation and transfers.
During the last edition of the trade fair in September 2022, more than 20,000 trade visitors used Texhibition to place orders and expand their networks. Overall, Texhibition welcomed visitors from 97 countries, including the EU, UK, USA, North Africa and the Middle East.
The aim of the Istanbul Textile Exporters' Association (ITHIB), with the support of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce is the efficient networking of the Turkish textile industry with the international fashion market. "As a platform, Texhibition covers exactly the demand for high-quality textile products with direct proximity to the European target markets, which we see in the market. We bring Turkish suppliers and international buyers together in a targeted manner,” says Ahmet Öksüz, CEO of ITHIB.
With an export volume of around 13 billion US dollars in 2022, the textiles industry achieved its best ever result and exported to a total of 200 countries and regions. An export volume of around 15 billion US dollars is targeted for 2023.
