The JL 73/1 and JL 83/1 extends the successful range of Jacquardtronic lace machines

The ITMA ASIA trade fair took place at the end of July in Shanghai and was the perfect opportunity for Karl Mayer to announce that it was extending its existing portfolio of lace machines. Two new models have been added to the JL machine series to complement the existing models, the JL 42/1,  JL 65/1 and JL 95/1. The new machines are designated the JL 73/1 as the basic version with 68 pattern bars, and the JL 83/1, which can be extended to a maximum of 78 pattern bars, if required

Performance features

The JL 73/1 version of the machine dispenses with the first (1) and the last strings (6), which are not required for working the pattern, in each of the first five shog lines. The free positions are either filled with empty strings, or else the yarn guides are not threaded with yarn. These unused positions can be used again in the maximum configuration of the JL 83/1. Positioning of the strings that are not used for patterning is done so as not to impede processing of the designated lappings.

If the last three shog lines are left unused, the new Jaquardtronic Lace machine can also be configured for use as the JL 65/1. A prerequisite for this is that the machine should be set-up optimally as the JL 83/1.

Maximum flexibility

This variable shog line configuration enables the customer to meet the various requirements of the design. The JL 73/1 can according to Karl Mayer easily produce all the same patterns as the MRSSJ/MREPJ 73/1 SU machines, which are already available on the market, without the design having to be modified. Karl Mayer states that the JL 83/1 can also create completely new patterns and, with the relevant configuration, can work the same patterns as the JL 65/1 without any problems.Karl Mayer emphasizes that the right set-up means that the optimum solution is always available, regardless of which design has to be produced.

Karl Mayer says that the potential for creativity and versatility clearly puts the two new models in the Jaquardtronic Lace range in the top segment of lace machines and that they can be classified between the JL 65/1 and the 95/1, and they are just as efficient as their sister machines in the range. Despite the advantages of this shog line arrangement, the JL 73/1 and JL 83/1 operate at the same production speed as the JL 65/1. New components and a modified needle motion enable the machines to operate at the usual high speeds of up to 500 rpm.

Technical features

The JL 73/1 and JL 83/1 profit from all the advantages of Karl Mayer’s latest technology in terms of their efficiency, quality and user-friendliness. These include pattern bars driven by servo-motors, electronic fabric take-down, electronic fabric batching, and a modern operator console with touch screen. The Multispeed system enables innovative products to be developed easily for new segments of the market, and an Ethernet interface at the machine’s computer permits networking with a control station or with external workstations for remote diagnosis using the Teleservice system.
