New general manager for Unifi Central America

Prior to joining Unifi, Salazar served as the Director for CS Central America, where he oversaw the start-up of operations in 2006.

Jorge Salazar, new general manager of Unifi Central America (UCA). © UnifiUnifi, a leader of innovative and sustainable textile fibre solutions, has announced the appointment of Jorge Salazar as general manager of Unifi Central America (UCA).

“Jorge brings an extensive background in operations and sales management to Unifi, where he will lead in driving impact and high-quality results to our daily processes,” said Tom Caudle, President and COO of Unifi. “His invaluable background supervising logistics and customer service, coupled with his extensive experience in Central America, will drive our strategic development in the region.”

Prior to joining Unifi, Salazar served as the Director for CS Central America, a polyester and nylon yarn producer, where he oversaw the start-up of operations in 2006, and subsequently led the business.

Central America is no exception to Unifi’s tradition of quality, sustainable manufacturing. UCA began operating in 2010. Located in the Free Zone, American Industrial Park in El Salvador, the CAFTA-compliant facility’s innovative supply chain provides rapid response and delivery throughout the region. Through UCA, Unifi’s offerings in Central America include key products, such as Repreve recycled polyester and Tru-Technologies, Unifi’s performance fibres.

Through Repreve, Unifi has transformed more than 12 billion plastic bottles into recycled fibre for new apparel, footwear, home goods and other consumer products. Unifi continually innovates technologies to meet consumer needs in moisture management, thermal regulation, antimicrobial, UV protection, stretch, water resistance and enhanced softness. Unifi collaborates with many brands in the sports apparel, fashion, home, automotive and other industries.
