Last week, Lynn Hinkelmann and Peter Wissman, representatives for some of Europe’s top spinners, presented the very latest yarn collections at Knitwear Lab in the Netherlands. Interested parties planned an appointment in advance with a specific time slot, so that they could safely enter the Knitwear Lab workspace. And the ‘corona-proof’ Yarn Show turned out to be a great success, Knitwear Lab reports.
We’ll definitely make this mini yarn fair a recurring event at our Lab
The Yarn Show had quite a unique set-up. Yarn collections were placed on display amongst Knitwear Lab’s daily operations. Visitors could examine the yarns against the backdrop of Knitwear Lab’s knitting machine lab, where the latest knitwear developments were being produced.
“It was very interesting to witness how knitwear is being developed, while we’re picking yarns for our new collection,” enthused one visitor. Additionally, visitors could have a look at Knitwear Lab’s elaborate swatch library to get inspired by the many possibilities knitwear has to offer. Many of the yarns that were processed in the swatches were from suppliers represented by Hinkelmann and Wissman.
The concept of the Yarn Show came into being as a temporary solution to replace the cancelled international yarn fairs. However, the event turned out to be very successful for both parties, Knitwear Lab said.
Knitwear Lab’s co-founder Cherish Brouwer, commented: “It was a great opportunity for both Knitwear Lab and Hinkelmann and Wissman to meet potential new clients. As Knitwear Lab we truly enjoyed being able to inspire the visitors with what we can do with knitwear. We’ll definitely make this mini yarn fair a recurring event at our Lab.”
