Vietnam-based manufacturer, Fashion Enterprise, has extended its partnership with Fibretrace and Good Earth Cotton to promote climate positive and traceable fibres across the global textile and fashion supply chain. The partnership allows the company to provide its customers with access to Australian-grown, carbon positive and natural fibres, guaranteeing authenticity of fibre from farm to finished garment whilst maintaining a high standard of operations.

Partnering with leading Vietnamese spinning and textiles mills, Fashion Enterprise collaborates closely with global buyers and brands to find sustainable solutions for its supply chain, from design through to final shipment.

“Good Earth Cotton and Fibretrace are the future for the fashion industry,” said Rodney Thanh, CEO at Fashion Enterprise. Good Earth Cotton is the earth’s first and only carbon positive and traceable cotton production, led by innovation, data and best agricultural practice, the company says.

“Good Earth Cotton combined with the power Fibretrace is an indomitable tool for the global textile and fashion industry that allows brands to thoughtfully stay in control of their supply chain, whilst allowing customers to see the full journey of how their garments were made and who made them. This is true traceability and visibility.”

By purchasing Good Earth Cotton brands are confidently aware that the cotton they have purchased has been produced with the lowest environmental impact possible, actively reducing and sequestering carbon from the atmosphere. What is more, the added advantage of Fibretrace’s physical and digital technology allows brands to go beyond paper certification, verifying and auditing the fibre content in real-time as it moves throughout the global supply chain.

Vietnam is one of the world’s fastest-growing economies and one of the largest import markets for Australian cotton.

The partnership highlights growing industry needs to adopt more circular and sustainable business models globally and support a fully transparent and traceable supply chain that moves toward climate positive outcomes.

Fashion Enterprise is a Vietnam based manufacturer specialising in the production of raw and dyed yarn, knitted and woven/denim fabrics and garments. Its teams in Vietnam and China collaborate with buyers and brands on product design through to sampling and final bulk shipment. Many of its very first clients continue to partner with it today and its commitment to them, as well as its experience and knowledge of the Australian fashion industry, make it a partner of choice amongst top retailers and fashion brands.

In 2019, Fashion Enterprise built its brand new 6500square metre factory in Ho Chi Minh City, which is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, combining fully fashioned knitting and cut and sew production. This allows the company to develop and produce mixed media fashion faster with a higher finish quality.

Good Earth Cotton is the world's first third-party verified carbon-positive cotton. Grown by passionate farmers who are driven by the need to reduce the environmental footprint of the raw fibre.

Good Earth Cotton says it sequesters more carbon than it emits across its entire growth lifecycle and is driven by data, innovation and technology to ensure best practice of regenerative smart farming techniques. Precision agriculture ensures minimal-to-zero tillage and soil disturbance. Crop rotation, organic waste amendments and cover crops increase biodiversity and soil health, lowering the farming environmental footprint. Measuring every drop of water and utilising renewable energy, Good Earth Cotton paves the way for cotton farming globally towards a conscious supply chain.

Ensuring the efforts of nature and science that form positive impacts at raw fibre level can be traced throughout the global supply chain, brands and consumers have confidence from the products it purchases, says Fibretrace.

The core of the Fibretrace technology is a patented luminescent pigment that is embedded in raw fibres (or optionally at yarn spinning) and is traced, verified and audited in real-time at each step of the global textile supply chain. This is achieved via a proprietary handheld Fibretrace Bluetooth Scanner that identifies and quantifies pigments in fibre, yarn, fabric and finished goods that send encrypted data into secure blockchain and software that was specifically designed and engineered for the textile and apparel supply chain.

Fibretrace delivers end-to-end traceability and real-time results and data, housed on a FibreTrace platform that can be accessed securely via any device connected to the internet.

Fibretrace’s mission is to ensure every member of the textile supply chain has the ability to take direct accountability to reduce the environmental impact of the global industry. In doing so, they aim to ultimately provide the consumer the opportunity to choose a transparent and sustainable supply chain to follow and purchase from.
