The eighth edition of Première Vision Istanbul closed its doors at the Istanbul Congress Center, in the heart of the lively NiÅŸantaşı district, attracting some 4,683 visitors, who came to discover the Spring/Summer 19 collections presented by 95 exhibitors, this month.

“The renewed interest shown by international visitors in the show, a trend already noticed last October, was confirmed this edition,” said organisers. “Première Vision Istanbul reflected strong attendance from international fashion professionals and registered some 1,000 visits. There were significant numbers of Ukrainian, Russian, Serbian and Middle East visitors.”

“Première Vision Istanbul is a fair that is unique in Turkey. This show ensures foreign customers. At the same time, it gives us an advantage when we find customers in the domestic market,” said Ozel Teksti. “We are very pleased with foreign interest,” confirmed Emr Fermuar.

“The show increases the brand value of Turkey. It gives Turkish producers who want to prove themselves an opportunity in a competitive environment,” concluded Ezgi Tekstil.

In addition to discovering the season’s fabrics and accessories, visitors had the opportunity to express their own creativity during workshops organised in partnership with the Istanbul Modern Museum. Prominent artists Ardan ÖzmenoÄŸlu, Hatice Gökçe and Ä°smet DeÄŸirmenci headed up these three workshops, which attained record audiences.

Other highlights

Other events attracting the audience included the Let’s talk about fashion guided tours of the forum. This season, the talks were presented by Première Vision’s new Deputy Fashion Director Julie Greux, who noted: “We are explaining the major trends of the season. It’s a unique service created especially for Première Vision Istanbul.”

For this second edition of Open Fashion Studio, four Okan University student teams created hoodies using YKK accessories and fabrics provided by Özel Tekstil, BotaÅŸ Nehir Tekstil, Tekstil Üniversal, Save Tekstil, Dilek Tekstil and Satab during the show. Visitors to the show followed live the different stages of their designs, before learning the name of the winning team during a cocktail party.
