Shima Seiki Europe Trainee Technician awarded Framework Knitters bursary

The Framework Knitters will continue to look to support up and coming talent in the UK in order to help improve the skills base in the knitwear trade

The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters has presented Shima Seiki Europe Trainee Technician Greg Brown with a bursary which has helped with the purchase of tools and equipment that Greg, who is part of Shima Seiki’s team based in Scotland, will be able to use throughout his career.

“The team at Shima Seiki Europe would like to express their thanks and gratitude to George Turner and Humphrey Barrett as well as all at The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters who have once again provided bursary support to one of our Trainee Technicians, Greg Brown,” Shima Seiki Europe said.

Scott Hamilton, Shima Seiki Europe Sales Executive, completed the presentation on behalf of George and Humphrey who are looking forward to catching up with Greg, once it is safe to do so post Covid-19.

George explained that: “The Framework Knitters will continue to look to support up and coming talent in the UK in order to help improve the skills base in the knitwear trade.”

Richard Webster, Managing Director Shima Seiki Europe, said: “it is really important that we identify, develop and support the right individuals to become the highly skilled technicians of the future and the bursary from The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters really helps in this process.”
