ShinWon Corporation, a global apparel manufacturer, is being recognised this International Women’s Day for its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and supporting women’s career growth.
With a philosophy that “human resources are a company’s most valuable asset,” ShinWon actively promotes career development and workplace improvements. In South Korea, women make up 58% of its workforce, with female executives holding 21% of leadership positions. Additionally, 92% of women return to work after maternity leave, reflecting the company’s strong support systems. Facilities such as women’s lounges, nursing rooms, and infant CPR training further reinforce ShinWon’s dedication to employee well-being.
Across ShinWon’s overseas subsidiaries, women constitute 81% of the workforce—far exceeding global averages. Female managers hold 75% of leadership roles, underscoring the company’s commitment to gender diversity. Collaborating with RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality), ShinWon provides ongoing training, including a digital training programme in Guatemala that has benefited over 100 employees monthly since November 2024.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, ShinWon’s headquarters in South Korea treated employees to refreshments symbolising the “Bread and Roses” movement and hosted a lecture on AI career growth. Overseas subsidiaries in Vietnam, Indonesia, Guatemala, and Nicaragua held special meals, performances, and gift distributions to honour female employees.
CEO JJ Park commented: “Through these initiatives, we recognise the invaluable contributions of our female employees and remain committed to fostering an environment where they can thrive.”
ShinWon operates 13 subsidiaries across five countries, employing approximately 30,000 people. The company continues to enhance welfare programmes and educational opportunities to uphold corporate social responsibility while promoting gender equity in the workplace.
