At the forthcoming IGATEX textile machinery exhibition in Karachi, Pakistan, from April 24-26, Monforts will highlight the benefits of its latest Universal Energy Tower. This stand-alone air/air heat exchanger module enables the recovery of heat from the exhaust air flow of thermal systems such as existing stenters and THERMEX dyeing ranges with infrared predriers, resulting in energy savings of up to 25% depending on the exhaust air volume and operating temperature.
The Energy Tower features an integrated fresh air fan with speed control, easy access to the heat exchanger modules for cleaning, and a large condensate collection tank with a lint filter. Real-time temperature monitoring and maintenance interval visualisation are also included. This solution is one of a series of modular upgrades developed to enhance the performance and efficiency of existing finishing lines.
“Monforts machines are known for their robustness and long service life, but retrofitting with new control and drive technology can significantly enhance performance,” says Monforts Area Sales Manager Manfred Havenith. “At this year’s IGATEX, we look forward to discussing upgrade possibilities with customers. Compared to a new machine, upgrades represent a lower-cost investment with clear benefits.”
Meanwhile, the Matex Eco Applicator offers an alternative to conventional padding processes, reducing energy consumption in fabric finishing. It allows precise chemical application, reducing residual moisture to approximately 35% and cutting the drying capacity required in the stenter. Finishing chemicals can be applied evenly on one or both sides of the fabric, enabling specialised treatments such as hydrophobic/hydrophilic coatings for professional clothing or denim finishing.
Additional retrofitting options available through Monforts’ modular upgrade programme include a clip opener for the MONTEX stenter, which reduces wear on clip tables and blades while ensuring a quieter working atmosphere. Updates to the human-machine interface (HMI) with new 19-inch compact OS Windows PCs, as well as frequency converter options, further enhance efficiency and reduce downtimes.
Monforts continues to receive repeat orders from Pakistan’s leading vertically integrated textile manufacturers. Customers in Karachi, Lahore, and Faisalabad rely on Monforts' established technologies, including Montex stentering equipment, Monfortex sanforising units, and Thermex dyeing ranges. These companies are expanding and diversifying into new markets, supported by Monforts' technical expertise and trials at its Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) in Germany.
Monforts specialists will be available at the stand of partner Al-Ameen at IGATEX 2025, A13-A30 in Hall 5.
