To this day, Stoll continues to develop and pioneer flat knitting machine technology, create innovative software solutions and modern knitting techniques

The Stoll journey

The leap forward in technology in this given time frame is documented by a CMS 330.6, an AJUM from 1936, an IBO hand flat knitting machine. Also, as a highlight Stoll will show a rare museum piece manufactured at its headquarters in 1905 in Reutlingen, the so-called LAMB model. The journey on the Stoll booth starts in the past. You will see in a chronological order the evolutionary steps of Stoll machines ranging from hand knitting to state-of-the-art machines.

Another highlight will be the History Carpet, a 79 feet long carpet, which covers the entire stand and is perfectly staged, presenting the development of the fabrics and pattern options from 1873 until today. The fabrics were chronologically knitted in one piece and contain additional information about the machines and technical developments at Stoll.

Stoll Collections

In the showroom area, the evolutionary steps can be appreciated through the Stoll ‘vintage' collection  Autumn/Winter 2011/2012  - a combination of craftsman tradition and the most modern industrial possibilities.

"This evidences the experience of 138 years of Stoll knitting history. The two latest Stoll collections Faux Real Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 as well as Between Worlds, Spring/Summer 2012 will be on display. Those collections were created by the Fashion & Technology Centers in Reutlingen and will outline the versatility of Stoll's knitting technology when it comes to the creation of garments," a company statement said today.

Continuing the journey at the Stoll booth, you will be lead from the past to the future.

A variety of several Stoll state-of-the art flat knitting machines represents the present and the future of Stoll technology. Software applications are added values.

CMS 502 HP and CMS 502 HP multi gauge

Stoll CMS 502HPAn additional highlight will be the presentation of the new CMS 502 HP and CMS 502 HP multi gauge.

"These machines are equipped with even more compact knitting systems and shorter carriage reversal times which results in a productivity increase of 10%. The newly developed Productivity Enhancement Pack reduces many knitting sequences and time relevant side sequences which adds up to another 4 % on top. Thus, these two machines truly deserve the title High Productivity," Stoll says.

"Another main topic of the fair will be the new 4L and 3L needles. This new development of Stoll offers many advantages: The 4L and 3L needles have a bigger needle hook for more yarn volume, which results in improved yarn grasping and therefore in higher knitting reliability. This is enabled by a new cam box in order to realize the necessary changes in needle movements as well as by a new clamp and cutting device for the thread clamp to be able to clamp and cut a bigger amount of threads in a reliable way," Stoll says, adding:

The two latest Stoll collections Faux Real Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 as well as Between Worlds, Spring/Summer 2012 will be on display."Additionally the holding-down jack was renewed and the holding-down jack control was adapted to the bigger needle hook. The 3L needle applies to the CMS 520 C machine; the 4L needle is available for the CMS 530 HP, CMS 822 HP and CMS 502 HP types."

Stoll M1 Plus

Stoll's M1plus will also be another major highlight in Barcelona.  "The new pattern software version combined with before mentioned machine improvements will lead to substantial run time savings and consequently unquestionable productivity increase," explains Stoll.

Next to the showroom area where samples and pattern trends will be presented by experts, visitors will also have the opportunity to mingle with business partners, customers, designers and knitwear purchasing agents in a relaxing atmosphere.

At ITMA Barcelona 2011, from September 22 to 29, the Stoll stand will be located in Hall 3, booth a165, and its motto will be "Our history - your future".
