Stäubli Textile will be presenting its machinery range and latest solutions at two booths at this year’s ITMA Asia, which takes place in Shanghai, in October. Knitters are invited to meet with Stäubli knitting specialists and observe the company’s latest automation toe-linking device for a shorter sock production process – D4S – on two circular knitting machines.

The D4S is a fully automatic toe-linking device for sock knitting machine, based on an idea for automatically linking socks directly on the knitting machine, so that no operator intervention is required. It is available for sock knitting machines with a diameter of 3½” to 4½” and from 8 to 19 gauges.

“Once the D4S is installed on a knitting machine, adjusting to different gauge ranges is fast and easy. The D4S represents a quantum leap for knitters who want to excel in the hosiery market,” the manufacturer explains.

Some of the key benefits of the device, according to the company, include significantly higher productivity in sock manufacturing, short idle time of the machine for removal of the finished knitted socks, and rapid payback thanks to price/performance ratio. The machine is also easily adaptable to various diameters.

The innovative device was developed by Stäubli in 2016 and was later introduced by an Italian sock knitting machine builder Rumi for the company’s single cylinder sock knitting machines.

Stäubli is a mechatronics solutions provider with three activities: Textile Machinery, Connectors, and Robotics. Founded in 1892, Stäubli is an international group with its head office in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. Stäubli is active internationally, with 12 industrial production sites. It is present in 25 countries through its sales and customer service subsidiaries and its global network is completed by agents in 50 countries.

Stäubli Textile has been developing and producing high-quality systems for the weaving industry for over a century and holds a strong market position in textile machinery.

The manufacturer will also exhibit at ITMA Asia an extensive range of products and solutions, including Deimo automation solutions for sock knitting, shedding solutions for frame weaving (cam motions, dobbies), electronic Jacquard machines with harnesses, in formats for every woven application, weaving preparation solutions for mastering warp preparation and warp tying, and weaving systems for carpeting and technical textiles.

“ITMA Asia is an ideal opportunity to find out all about Stäubli’s comprehensive product range, which is perfectly suited to the needs of Asian mills,” the company says.
