German circular knitting machine builder Terrot, has decided to close its Cazzago, Italy, subsidiary Terrot Italia, due to the global downturn in demand for circular knitting machines.
Production will be moved to Terrot’s main factory in Germany’s Saxony region, where machine development and distribution was already integrated, according to the company.
In a statement on the company’s website, Terrot owner Peter Schuring and CEO Dirk Lange told customers that they would still be able to buy all Pilotelli models currently offered by the company. Spare parts and service for Pilotelli machines will be handled by Terrot in Chemnitz.
Terrot’s management said that there could be some delays in deliveries in the first few weeks of the relocation.
The Cazzago site was once the home of the internationally reknowned Pilotelli company which Terrot acquired in 2014. Pilotelli Macchine Tessili S.r.l., was known for its single-jersey technology expertise, and for having a strong presence in Turkey and South America. Its Cazzago, San Martino site continued production under the name Terrot Italy S.r.l
