The 56th edition of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris took place in a particularly dynamic atmosphere. More than 8,500 international visitors connected with 1,250 exhibitors from 32 countries over three days at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre. Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, Europe's largest marketplace for fashion textiles and clothing, has reaffirmed its position as the leading global fashion platform for mid-range segment buyers and suppliers. Held from 10 to 12 February 2025, the event saw a 10% increase in attendance compared to the February 2024 edition.

Paris remains a top global sourcing hub

The Parisian event has cemented itself as an essential meeting point for designers, buyers, and suppliers of fabrics and finished products. It underscores Europe's importance to the global fashion industry, with the top five visiting countries being France, the UK, Italy, Spain, and Germany. Following a period of adjustment, international buyer participation surged, highlighting Paris' resilience in an increasingly volatile fashion market.

Meeting market expectations

"The global market, beyond the general geopolitical and commercial context, is still undergoing a major transformation, with a gradual shift from entry-level segments to a more qualitative offering, now representing the bulk of global clothing consumption," noted Julien Schmoll, Marketing and Communications Director at Messe Frankfurt France. "We've redesigned our trade fairs to meet the needs of mid-range buyers by focusing on a diverse, high-quality selection at competitive prices in a setting conducive to business interactions."

Spotlight on African sourcing

This year, African sourcing took centre stage, emerging as an attractive alternative for many buyers. Nine Ethiopian companies present at the event established promising commitments with European brands. Maryse Mbonyumutwa, founder of the Rwandan group Pink Mango, the first African manufacturing platform for sustainable and ethical global brands, also secured key partnerships. "We've had promising discussions with representatives of several European brands that could sign up with us locally," she stated.

Three days of active business exchanges

Exhibitors and buyers engaged in extensive discussions throughout the event. Bangladeshi manufacturer NZ Denim connected with almost all its European clients, including Celio, Okaïdi, Kiabi, and Jules. "The show allows us to meet design teams and discuss materials for future collections," explained Najam Us Saqib, the company's R&D manager. Buyers also used the event to explore new developments, such as naturally coloured Ackala Coton, a key innovation highlighted during the Econogy Tour, which showcased companies meeting ecological and social textile industry standards.

From mainstream fashion to haute couture

Representatives from major French fashion brands attended the event to engage with Indian, Turkish, and Chinese suppliers while scouting materials for future collections. Haute couture designers Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov, founders of On Aura Tout Vu, visited the fair to identify materials and suppliers for a show production company they support. "We followed the selection suggested by Texworld's artistic directors Louis Gérin and Grégory Lamaud, and for a first visit, we found some truly creative and interesting materials," they noted.

September 2025 edition confirmed

The next Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris edition is scheduled from 15 to 17 September 2025 at Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre. It will include key sectors such as Avantex and Leatherworld, maintaining the February edition's layout while enhancing visitor services and creating synergies between raw materials and finished products.
