Turkey's socks exports have increased by 9.76% to US$ 501.3 million in the first half of 2018, compared to the same period of last year.
According to the recent official data, sock exports, which were US$ 456.8 million in the first half of 2017, reached US$ 501.3 million in the same period of this year, growing by US$ 44.5 million.
The country has carried out most of the sock exports to the UK this year, with socks exports in the first half of 2018 rising to US$ 118.2 million, compared to US$ 105.4 million in the same period of 2017.
Germany came in second place. In the first half of 2017, exports amounted to US$ 92.5 million, while in the same period of 2018, this figure increased to US$ 100.4 million.
Turkish socks exporters realised sales worth of over US$ 10 million to eight countries, which shared 74.3% of all exports. Of these, only Italy recorded a decline.
