There are tales worth telling, and the one about Vita Life by Carvico is definitely one of those, says the leading fabrics maker. Carvico, headquartered in the district of Bergamo and specialised in the production of warp-knit fabrics, is not new to working by applying fair and respectful social and environmental policies and by making tangible and efficient moves to support sustainability.

Now, the company has taken one more step forward in its responsible and eco-sustainable journey, by launching Vita Life, a fabric which aims to revolutionise sportswear and fashionwear.

The novelty lies in the new Lycra elastomer made of 70% bio-derived materials, the first bio-spandex available on a large scale, made from corn from renewable crops which are not taken away from the human food chain.

“Once more the textile supply chain research, awareness and determination have led to the development of one ingredient aimed at reducing the use of non-renewable fossil materials,” says Carvico. “Dent corn comes from regenerative agriculture: a holistic and inclusive vision of how to manage the territory blending tradition and contemporary science with the aim to reducing greenhouse gases emissions, increasing soil organic components and preserving its property while reducing the effects of wind erosion. “

Vita Life takes Vita one step higher. Elevate Your Runway is the fabric début claim which Carvico is presenting at Mare di Moda tomorrow the 5th of November. Made from Econyl (100% regenerated nylon yarn from pre- and post-consumer materials) and Lycra bio-derived elastomer, Vita Life offers the same performance and quality as its standard predecessor.

A rainbow of shades accompanies its launch. The chosen colour range – reminiscent of nature and elements – is metal and bisphenol-free, and perfectly matches Carvico’s sustainable philosophy and the most recent market trends, supporting a tangible and responsible circularity both in actions and style.
