The technology of Karl Mayer’s Jaquardtronic Lace series is extremely sophisticated, and they are among some of the best selling machines in the company’s lace machine programme. However, Karl Mayer says that this status does not allow the developers of these multi-bar jacquard raschel machines to be in any way complacent. Lace manufacturers are constantly demanding faster, more flexible, higher-quality production machines, and these demands have been met even more since the first quarter of this year in the shape of the faster JL 42/1 and the revamped JL 59/1, which is based on this model.

High-speed JL 42/1

Karl Mayer says that both the F and B versions of the JL 42/1 have been extremely successful and new features have now been incorporated to optimise their innovative technology. These include a 40% increase in speed. The revamped machine components have enabled the speed of the Jaquardtronic Lace machines to be increased from 630 rpm to roughly 850 rpm and this has created optimum conditions for operating profitably and economically in the middle segment of the lace market.

Karl Mayer says there is nothing magical about this speed, nor has it been achieved at the expense of dependability or operating reliability. Tried and tested components, such as the string bar patterning system and other sophisticated technical features guarantee that the machine operates reliably throughout all the processing sequences, even at high speeds. The JL 42/1 is also fast to operate and the simple handling procedures, short setting-up times and rapid pattern changeover sequences of the Jaquardtronic Lace series, which has proved itself many times in practice, have all been retained on this improved model, Karl Mayer says.

Electronic fabric take-down and electronic batching make the machine easy to use, as does its modern operator console. All the main parameters can be controlled clearly and all the information relating to the machine can be called up using the touch screen interface. A machine control computer with Ethernet connection also enables the JL 42/1 to be linked to a network or to the machine control station. Karl Mayer says that the machine’s high speed has no adverse effect on the range of fabrics that can be produced and that designers can still make full use of the shog paths of the string bars of up to 170 mm and this gives them a huge amount of creative freedom when developing high-end designs. The company also claims that the pattern data can be loaded easily and reliably via a new, easy-to-use USB interface.

JL 59/1 B – compact, fast and flexible

A new addition to the Jaquardtronic Lace family is based on the design of the faster JL 42/1, but the patterning features have been specifically extended to give it more string bars.

The number of string bars has been increased from six to eight strings within the individual shog lines, a modification that has extended the range of designs that can be produced. This increase in the number of pattern strings compared to the smaller JL 42/1 has enabled the types of yarns that can be processed to be extended, and even finer and more varied patterns can now be produced.

Karl Mayer says that, by basing the design of the JL 59/1 B on the high-speed JL 42/1 B, speeds of up to 850 rpm can now be achieved and, at the same time, the machine offers a high operating reliability, low maintenance requirements and exceptional user-friendliness.

The company says that, with the faster JL 42/1 and the new JL 59/1 B, this innovative generation of Jaquardtronic Lace machines offers exceptional levels of flexibility, productivity and technology, making it a real ‘trendsetter’ in the market.
