April 2008, Dr. Michael Fiedler took up his position as the new managing director of KARL MAYER Malimo Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, the subsidiary responsible for the technical textiles section of the renowned KARL MAYER Group, which has its head office in Obertshausen. On 1. April 2008, Dr. Michael Fiedler took up his position as the new managing director of KARL MAYER Malimo Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, the subsidiary responsible for the technical textiles section of the renowned KARL MAYER Group, which has its head office in Obertshausen. Born in Zwickau in 1958, he completed a normal school education, and studied mechanical engineering during the first half of the 1980s at the Technical University of Chemnitz. Michael Fiedler subsequently became an assistant lecturer at this technical university, and was awarded a doctorate at the end of the eighties. Shortly afterwards, he moved into the indus-trial sector. This expert in mechanical engineering held various positions within this sector, from sales manager to managing director of a number of high-tech companies specialising in drive technology. In his new role as the managing director of KARL MAYER Malimo, Dr. Michael Fiedler intends to expand the core areas for which he is responsible. His aim is to further strengthen the sections of development, engineering and design, assembly, sales and service, thus enabling the company to continue along its innovative path and equipping it to compete successfully at the head of a market facing increasing challenges.
