Textile and clothing exports from Egypt were up in 2018, reflecting increases in exports to most of Egypt s largest foreign markets during the year. In Morocco, there was an increase in clothing exports – reflecting strong sales in the EU and the USA – and there were also increases in textile production and clothing production.
Textile and clothing exports from Tunisia also increased, reflecting strong sales in the USA, but textile production fell. Meanwhile, textile and clothing exports from Turkey continued to advance, reflecting strong sales in the EU and in the USA, and there were also increases in textile production and clothing production.
