Shima Seiki, the Japanese leader in computerised flat knitting, will exhibit at the 19th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2025) from 20–23 February 2025. The company will participate in collaboration with its long-time partner, Pacific Associates Ltd. This marks Shima Seiki’s fifteenth appearance at the event since it entered the Bangladeshi market in 1996.
As the world’s second-largest textile exporter, Bangladesh is increasingly focusing on innovation, digitalisation, and sustainability. Shima Seiki will reinforce its commitment to these priorities by showcasing its latest WHOLEGARMENT knitting technology, which enables seamless garment production without linking or sewing, significantly reducing material waste.
Among the key machines on display will be the MACH2XS153 WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine in 15L gauge, which features four needle beds and SHIMA SEIKI’s original SlideNeedle for producing high-quality fine gauge knitwear. Also on show will be the SWG091N2 ‘Mini’ WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine in 15 gauge, which offers a compact and economical solution for small-scale production.
The N.SVR183, a special model of Shima Seiki’s N.SVR series, will demonstrate an alternative approach to WHOLEGARMENT knitting, using every other needle to produce 12-gauge items with high efficiency. A conventional version of the N.SVR series, the N.SVR122 shaping machine in 14 gauge, will also be exhibited.
Additionally, Shima Seiki will present its SDS-ONE APEX4 3D design system, which supports the fashion industry from initial concept to final production. This system allows for realistic virtual sampling, reducing the time, cost, and material waste associated with physical prototypes. The SDS-ONE APEX4 facilitates a digital workflow, bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, and contributing to a more sustainable supply chain.
DTG 2025 will take place at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, with Shima Seiki located at Hall 8, Booth 8-343. Visitors can experience live demonstrations of the company’s latest innovations and explore how its technology can contribute to sustainable and efficient knitwear production.
